Our values

We make luxury goods, but there’s nothing ostentatious about us

We believe in the importance of skills which are passed on, learned, repeated and refined.

We're proud to strive for excellence.

We think that pieces made with love are infinitely more valuable than those made by machines.

We produce our leather goods in small quantities, so that we can offer our clients the luxury of working slowly and intelligently at every stage of the process.

We believe that every piece is unique.

We believe in what we do.

We don't follow trends. We're fiercely independent.

“Perhaps the beauty of a profession lies in its ability to bring people together: there is just one true luxury – the luxury of human contact.”

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Our approach

Our desire to share our passion guides everything we do

How do we choose where our leathers come from?

Here in France, we have extraordinary tanneries which strive to protect our environment and ensure the quality of their finished products. Working with these tanneries guarantees the quality of the pieces we produce.

When we say that we want to create pieces which will last a lifetime, it's true. When 40-year-old satchels are brought back to Atelier Renard for minor repairs, we're thrilled: not only have we created something truly long-lasting, we've also created something which continues to delights its owner.

Ultimately, we limit our footprint through our very limited production (fewer than 300 pieces per year), with a continued focus on flawless quality.

“I want to talk about the beauty of everyday things. Beauty comes from age, use and careful handling. The more something is used, the more beautiful it becomes; the more beautiful it becomes, the more it is loved. Therein lies the infinite relationship which binds human beings and utensils. A utensil feels warm in the hand which uses it, a human holds it lovingly; the two will spend the day together.”
