Paris,
Remember, a short while ago, I promised to tell you a few stories, anecdotes, unusual orders, including the making of these special cases for collar stiffeners!
I told you that it was the smallest object ever created at the Atelier. But digging deep into my camellia memory, I remembered an even smaller case.
A case for a... gold toothpick!
An exact reproduction of a wooden toothpick, but in gold, made by one of the finest luxury jewellers.
Obviously, when you carry such an object, you don't want to slip it directly into your pocket.
Whereas in a case, yes!
The customer had chosen a grained green leather. I remember it because it matched my foliage. I watched Corinne sew it by hand and considering the size of the case, I can tell you that it didn't take very long!
I also remember the visit of this very elegant man (I don't see why I shouldn't succumb to the charm of the male sex either) who visited us to order cases for three old secateurs. A present for his wife.
It's so handy to have your pruning shears within reach, thanks to the case hooked on your belt.
What was said was done. The discreet charm of gardening.
What about phone cases? Could you even list the number of phone brands currently existing? With their proper size, thickness, height, width? Each order is an opportunity to make a mould perfectly adapted to the model. Some customers want it on their belt (like the pruning shears), others want a flap, or a slight offcut on the front or on the side...
I won't even mention the choice of the leather, as well as the colour of the exterior and even the interior! You've really got to love your phone to pamper it like that.
The phone must feel so comfortable, you certainly won't see it out of his case very often.
If that is not made-to-measure...
